DotCom Secrets Review – 7 Best Reasons Why Entrepreneurs Should Read This Book!13 min read

In today’s review, I’m going to be giving away seven of the best takeaways from this book. Here are the best .com secrets and if you have not got this book, people, I don’t know what you’re waiting for, get the book already! It has every single thing you need to know, to build a successful online business.

The reason I’m doing this, writing this review is that like myself, and many other people I know started struggling or still are when trying to kick start their businesses and want to make money online. We all want to be able to achieve some financial freedom. And that’s why I believe; you need to start with this book and others like it. I could give you advice all day but if someone can do it better then why the heck not.

One of these people is Russell Brunson, and in this review, I’m going to take a look at his book DotCom Secrets: The Underground Playbook For Growing Your Company Online.

WHAT IS DOTCOM SECRETS?

While DotCom Secrets was published back in 2015, I still find that most of the strategies that Russell talks about in this book still hold true today.

It contains a ton of actionable advice and if you’re looking to sell anything online, I really recommend that you grab a copy of this book and keep it as a reference.

At the time of this post, the book has a 4.5-star rating with more than 500 reviews on Amazon.

Business Playbook

Who is Russell Brunson?

For those of you who are not familiar with him, Russell Brunson is a highly successful online entrepreneur. He started his first business in college (selling potato gun DVDs) and he’s sold everything from shakes, t-shirts, and supplements.

He co-founded Etison LLC, where they launched the hugely successful ClickFunnels software.

Clickfunnels CEO

This book right here has pretty much every single thing you need in it for your online businesses. There is nothing left out, and this is a crucial aspect. It’s pretty much required reading for your business. So without too much more redundant information.

I’m going to get right into the seven takeaways that I’ve gotten from this book, and hopefully, if you’ve read this book, drop any comments below what your takeaways are or what you’ve learned from this book because it is a real game-changer and for me as well.

You can learn something new from this book every single day. He has another one out called Expert Secrets which I’ll be reviewing as well. It is an excellent book, as you will see too. So let’s get into the seven takeaways right now.

DotCom Secrets Takeaways

So the number one and these are in no particular order. But the number one takeaway on my list and again no specific order is a value ladder. So I’m going to describe what the value ladder is, but I’m not going to go into super in-depth here, get the book for yourself and you can grab that book and check out all of the stuff team have to offer.

Dotcom Value Ladder

So the value ladder is simple. A lot of times when people think, getting into a business they think about just selling one product or one service, and that’s it, so they come, they buy and you know, maybe you send a follow-up email, but you don’t have anything else to sell them.

So what Russell talks about in this book is moving people up a ladder. So you might have the initial offer down at the bottom, and then you have an upsell, I think it was just for like information products. He gives out examples like if you have a Chiropractor business or if you have a doctor’s office or anything like that, but you regularly and consistently want to be moving people up this ladder.

And he talks about if they bought from you once and they’ve got excellent value, a lot of times they’re going to be looking for more stuff to buy. So you know, for example, I’ve set out a funnel that I’m putting together right now maybe it’ll put a little bit more clarity for you. Value ladder for legendary marketer…The number two takeaway.

Funnel hacking. You might have heard this term. But mostly what Russell talks about in the book is you want to reverse engineer a funnel. So you want to go through if you know you’re in the business of, you know, selling anything, you want to go through your competitor’s funnels and figure out what they are doing.

So when Russell talks about this, in the book, he said, when he was launching his supplement company or when Russell was launching Clickfunnels, he would go through the top competitors who are like lead pages and Infusionsoft.

Then he would go through their funnels and funnel hack them and figure out what they were doing right and what you know they were doing wrong, and then he would deploy that on his actual funnel so if you have a competitor out there that is doing well by their stuff. I mean, it might sound a little counterintuitive, but going through their funnel and figuring out what they’re doing and figure out how you can implement that in your funnel. The number three takeaway

Free plus shipping. How did Russell Brunson, get me into his little Clickfunnels business model? it was a free plus shipping model. What’s cool about it is, that it’s a real no-brainer, as the information in this book can change your life. Hopefully, this book is a game-changer, a life-changer.

And what he did is he offered a ton of value upfront, he used a free plus shipping model. So it got me going and got my credit card, and then when you go through Russell’s funnel and then after you buy one product, Russell tries to move you up the value ladder.

Then there’s a bunch of upsells and other stuff that came along with purchasing the book. But the main thing to consider is what Russell didn’t get me in on like a free PDF, or something else like it, which those are good too, but that doesn’t see me as a customer.

In other words, I’m not just a person who’s bought something, who got something for free and never got trained. I’m someone who’s pulled out my credit card and bought something that was worthwhile. So now he’s going to try to move me up the value ladder, which worked, which I’ve now got Clickfunnels and I love using it for my business. I’m using it for pretty much everything that I’m doing right now.

And so that’s the number three takeaway. It’s vital to implement this in your business as well as what can you give away for free, but perhaps consider $5, $10 buy-in. Still, the value that you’re going to be giving like with Legendary, that’s what I’m using because it’s an excellent business model as well. I’m moving people, hopefully up that value ladder by giving away a free super affiliate course but it can change people’s lives and when they see how much it can change your life.

Let’s move on to the number four takeaway: The next thing is your dream customer. So the dream customer is something that we need to figure out and need to identify because I’ve done stuff before and marketed towards people and sold things to people that weren’t my dream customers.

All they did was producing me headaches, and part of the reason I’m starting this blog and doing more content in the blog is that people want to learn stuff and have a knowledge of marketing. Some of you click on links from me and if purchase any products I will earn income from the link, which is also good. I’m not complaining!

But the people that I want as my customers are people who are entrepreneurs and traffic that are interested in affiliate marketing and business. They want to put the hard work in and go above and beyond. So Russell talks about who is your dream customer? And how can you get your products or services in front of them?

Because sometimes you’ll wake up just to make a quick dollar and you’ll sell stuff, or you’ll offer services to people that you don’t even want to deal with. They have, questions for you, and sometimes I don’t want to deal with them even though I shouldn’t think like that.

How can I divert people who are the type of people that I don’t want to talk to, the people that don’t know the core fundamentals of entrepreneurship and just want to make a quick dollar, but don’t want to put the work in and don’t want to do the studying or training that it’s going to take?

So a lot of the content you’re going to be seeing in this blog over the long term is stuff to get you guys up to speed as I’m learning more. I’m going to give heaps of information and provide as much value as I can.

The number five takeaway is an attractive character. And so when I first started this blog, you’ll notice I’m talking a lot about myself on my story page. And in this review, there is a lot I reflected on from the takeaways. When I first started working on my blog, and I supposed my own personal brand back a few years ago, I held back, and I didn’t open up as much, and I didn’t share my story enough. I didn’t share a lot of my victories, but I also didn’t share a lot of my failures.

I didn’t share a lot of personal stuff to be more transparent. Russell talks about that in the attractive character chapter, the fact that the attractive character shows an attractive vulnerability, and it isn’t what you look like on the outside. It’s all about identifying with your audience.

You’re either doing something in your business, trying to start a business or trying to better yourself in general—That’s what I’m trying to do in my writing.

Again I highly recommend you guys get this book. It’s a real game-changer. And if it gets people excited about starting their own business online and it changes for them that that’s key!

If anybody is thinking I want to make money online or I want to work from home, you need to check this book out. You need to check expert secrets out because those are the two books that are going to give you all the information you need to explode your business. And then from there, I would suggest implementing some of the tactics from the book. I use the software called Clickfunnels, and I’m using it for all my sales funnels.

The number six takeaway: The 23 building blocks of a funnel. So these are the building blocks of a funnel he talks about in the book. He talks about funnels being like playing with Lego. And you can take one piece of these 23 building blocks, and put another one over here.

And Russell talks a lot about funnels you’re going to do if you decide to get clickfunnels, which I use, for everything. I believe it simplifies everything for me. So if you can simplify, the software that you’re using, or the kind of information you’re taking in, it’s going to make your life a lot easier.

So those are 23 building blocks. I’m not going to create that many blog posts about this as every single one of those actually probably makes individual posts out of some of these steps because I think they’re really important. But the number seven.

The final number seven takeaway: would be the seven phases or steps of a funnel. And Russell talks about the quote that I’ve highlighted; I keep coming back. He says the real difference between having a six, seven, or even eight-figure business is whether you understand the steps of a funnel, and can set and can successfully monetize the different points along the line. So he talks about the seven steps of a funnel are the pre-frame the pre-frame bridge qualifying subscribers. Qualifying buyers identified hyperactive buyer’s agent ascend the relationship, and then change the selling environment.

Hopefully getting some value out of this review because, again, I’ve spent a lot of time going through this book and will continue to go through this book until I get it mastered because I think everything that this individual here has learned he talks about everything that Russell learned in 10 years he put in this book and distilled it for us to be able to help our businesses out and help our lives up and all that so that’s the.com secrets book if you guys are interested in this book, you can get the dot.com book now and you can get it shipped out to your house for free.

just one more second on the seven steps of a funnel. As you can see, it kind of ties into the ladder here, the value ladder, which, again, if you don’t take anything away from this review, definitely start trying to think of different ways you can move your customers through your value ladder. If you have one product, think of other creative things that you could sell to that person that can get more value. And then obviously to increase your financial stakes and always be thinking about how you can improve your products.

I use click funnel’s a lot and that’s so that’s the software that I’m using all the time. You can get Expert Secrets here as well.

The last section of DotCom Secrets is basically a short advertisement for ClickFunnels. As mentioned earlier, it’s the software for creating the types of sales funnels that Russell has been teaching you in the book.

There’s not much meat to this last section, but you can read my ClickFunnels review here for a more detailed look at how it works.

There are affiliate links in this review so anything that you buy through these links, I’ll get a commission on and it definitely helps support me and continue building the blog and helps me help others in their businesses.

DotCom Secrets Pricing

The paperback edition of DotCom Secrets is currently selling on Amazon for $19.71. The hardback version for $15.73. Or you can pick up the Kindle edition for $10.33. However, I recommend buying the book from his website for free and paying for shipping and handling for about $9.95 or $19.95 international.
